V/A "Acceleration To Doomsday" 7"EP
７月４日、私の友人が成田空港に到着した。その日は例年よりも早く台風が接近しており、彼の便は危うく欠航もしくは遅延となるところであった。最近様々な天変地異が世界の至るところで起こっている。ところであなたはマヤ文明が栄えた時代に発明された「マヤ・カレンダー」をご存知ですか？何千年も前からマヤ先住民によって使われてきた17種類の伝統的なカレンダーは、各々が太陽、月、星などの天体や宇宙、自然のサイクルに同調しています。このカレンダーを深く理解することで、大いなる宇宙のサイクルや自然界と、自身の肉体や精神との深い関係をより認識するようになります。そして、それらと調和し協調する生き方を思い出すきっかけになります。マヤ・カレンダーは、過去から未来へ直線的に数字が並んでいる平面の紙ではありません。個人的な暦でもありません。先祖代々丁寧に語り継がれてきた敬意をもって学ぶべき先祖の教えです。どれくらい長い時間を、どれくらい多くの人が関わってきたのかは、私達の想像を遥かに超えるのです。ところが、このカレンダーには地球の終わりを予期する内容が含まれていることが最近分かりました。それによると地球は巨大な炎に包まれ、大量の水が大陸を飲み込み、この世は終焉を迎えるそうなのです。これは近年多くの人々がその暗示を信じ、そして終末へ畏怖の念を抱いていることから、その信憑性が年々強まってきています。なぜならマヤ・カレンダーではそれが２０１２年１２月２１日に起こる、とされているからです。もしかしたらその前兆がすでに世界中で起こっているのかもしれません。様々な異常気象や超常現象、そして宇宙開発。我々にはもう何もできることはありません。そっとその時が過ぎるのを祈るだけです。

My friend arrived at Narita airport last night when typhoon, which is the 4th in 2012, hit Tokyo. It's a little bit early that typhoon hits in this season. Usually, it comes around middle of August. Generally in Japan, typhoons come right after summer vacation season is ended. Well, do you believe Mayan calendar system? The Mayan race used an ancient calendar system that has over the past centuries predicted many things that have been true. (a bit like Nostradamous) Their calendar predicted great catastrophes such as tidal waves, earthquakes ice ages etc. The point is that their calendar was only made out to December 21st 2012 as that was the date they predicted the world would end. They said it would end with a huge explosion of fire (nuclear bombs?) And massive tidal waves that would engulf whole continents (like Tsunami). Many people believe this to be factual and point out that the Mayans correctly and accurately predicted many things over hundreds of years.
I guess when you look at the last 5 or 10 years on this planet, there have been more and more unthinkable natural disasters (especially in Asia) so who knows? Sometimes it feels like the world will end in our lifetime but I hope not. I call recent phenomenons 'Acceleration To Doomsday' as this year is thought to be our last.

Vendetta "Vendetta" EP reissue!
The madly energic Japanese attack punk Vendetta. Their 1st EP is now proudly reissued by Imminent Destruction Records and Narm Discos in June 2012. Vendetta is playing around in Tokyo for years. The bass player and drummer used to play in Intruders. Their debut EP was sold immediately mostly only in Japan. Their gigs are always fantastic and give great experience of angers to S.S.
